An outbreak of fire has caused substantial smoke damage to a house here in Thurles.
We understand that the residential premises, situated at No. 8 McDonagh Terrace, Mitchel Street, Thurles, caught fire at about 3:00pm this afternoon, but was quickly brought under control.
Thankfully no one was injured as a result of the blaze, however the residence now remains, temporally at least, no longer habitable.
